Day 172 – April 11th

Today I finally witnessed comprehensive proof of one of the major differences between men and women……the haircut. Unbelievable, I will come back to this in a second.

First up work was well work………as more time passes, more things appear to be the same………I was glad when it hit 5pm and I could get out and hit the court.  Olivier was the openent today, and whilst neither of us played that well I secured the 3-1 victory.  Two wins, in two days but how will my body hold up for a 3rd match in 3 days against Dev tomorrow.. ……in addition to the squash Olivier again offered up some interesting news.

I followed squash up with a quick shoulder workout, and because I had plenty of time went for a haircut before the Raptor game.

Given how few people were in the store I was confident I would see the opening tip, however those in the store were women……..”Do you think I should layer it”……..”Would this colour match my skin tone”…….”If I get the perm with colour, how long before they fade”.

Unbelievable……absolutely unbelievable……..on the counter there are probably 3 or 4 books showing a whole range of hairstyles………just pick one out and tell the stylist what it is.  There is no need to enter into a 10 min discussion about the pros and cons of each one.  Next time you go to McDonalds why not debate each of the menu items with the teller and see how the person behind you reacts.

By the time my number was called, it was already 7:15 but given I knew a) Exactly what I wanted and b) My number 1 allover takes all of of 5 mins…….figured I’d go through with it and as result reached my seat at the ACC around 30 mins late and with one quarter allready played.

Turns out this wasn’t a bad thing though as based on the score they hadn’t played that well……but picked up the slack when they witnessed myself in the stands and as a result cruised to a victory over the Nets.  This was particularly sweet for two reasons…….firstly the game eliminated the Nets from the playoffs and secondly the Vince Carter saga appears to have come full circle.  When arguably (and I’m talking on a global scale) Toronto’s biggest sports star left town to play for the Nets, he figured the future was bright and now the team he left behind is heading to the post season dance, whilst the one he currently plays for will be packing up for an early summer.

Looks like the Raptors are finally beginning to turn the corner as are the Jays up 8-4 in Texas.

Mood for the day 8 out of 10
