Day 173 – April 12th

My energy is hanging by a thread…….it is fortunate that I get a day off from the gym tomorrow. Today was my 3rd squash match in 3 days and 2nd in the space of 16 hours……..whilst I pulled off the 3-0 win over Dev I was flat out shattered at the end of the second game and have no idea how I held on for the win.

Whilst there I took the opportunity to speak with Sarah some more……..it appears that she is a “Bay Street Lawyer”……..given what has happened with Bay Street Lawyers in the past I will probably leave well alone as all they appear to bring is pain and misery.

Following squash I went to see the movie stop-loss it is certainly a thought provoker as it chronicles the fictional story of soldiers being sent back to Iraq for multiple tours of duty when they believed they had served there time………hopefully I will never end up in a war zone, but if I did and survived only to be told when I got home that I had to return I have no idea how I would react……maybe in the same way as the lead character who contemplates starting over in a new country with a new identity.

Upon returning home, I called Janet…….she appears pleasant on the phone, has a healthy life style……lives in the city Yonge/Eglinton and appears to have a fairly positive outlook on life……despite a few horror stories about the people she has been introduced to through the dating agency so far. It was a refreshing change to be able to talk to someone about the whole “experience” as recently I have been sent a never ending stream of rookies. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the “rookie” they come into a first meeting with completely unrealistic expectations of sparks flying, chemistry flowing and birds singing.

The world of dating seldom works like that my friend especially when meeting someone through a situation as contrived as dating agency…….I say that because most of the people I know who are happily married or in couples appear to have developed an attraction over time. Most appear to have met them in a situation where they encounter the person a few times (e.g. Through work, or at a shared place of interest) and develop an attraction over time.

Maybe today’s society is different with people seldom giving someone more than a couple of minutes before deciding if they would like to meet that person again. Whilst I do not like this character trait in people, I am certainly guilty of it myself as usually it does not take me long to gather the information I need……Lifestyle, Job, Look etc……and make a snap judgment that I seldom change.

More hypno today as well.

Mood for the day 7 out of 10.
