Day 224 – June 2nd

As I write this it is 10:30pm, and I have only been home for about one hour, I have not been to the gym and certainly haven’t done anything socially so where could I have been for so long…….if you’ve read my last few posts it’s pretty easy to figure out.

Interesting article in the Star today, apparently there is some controversy about newcomers having to take a language exam in order to immigrate to Canada…..it is referenced here………I am honestly not sure why it is so controversial.  Canada has two official languages English/French so why would be so strange that a requirement of someone wanting to live here is that they can speak one of the two languages.  I guess I have a slightly biased view because I was born in an English speaking country and accept that the counter argument is that there are already numerous people living in Canada especially Toronto (Chinatown and Little Italy spring to mind) where some residents are unable to speak a word of English.
